WALT: Identify punctuation marls when reading

I like trying to use expression but it can be very tricky because I am concentrating on the words not the punctuation.

WAL: basic facts

I competed against Dominic and Brooklyn on slide maths. We had to find the right answer to the addition questions. 

It can be tricky to answer the questions quickly so I must practise my basic facts every day. 

WALT: Use a range of different materials

LOOK AT MY ART FOR THE SCHOOL EXHIBITION.

I have used dye, collage and pen to create each leaf. 

WALT: Describe 3D shapes

We know that 3D shapes:

• are solids
• have edges
• have vertices
• have faces

Look at our 3D shapes coming to LIFE on QUIVER VISION!

Justin says, "I am learning about the number of faces on 3D shapes."

WALT: Show our understanding of the story

I am proud that I can use the book to answer the questions. 

WALT: Use spelling patterns (-ing)

My Reflection
For this activity we were learning to use spelling patterns (ing).
I found this activity tricky because it was hard to copy from my book.
My next step is to listen more carefully.

WALT: Use the space around us

Room 30 have loved going to Youth Town. 

We had FUN, LISTENED and LEARNT some very fun skills like:

• following instructions
• team work
• finding/using space

WALT:Understand what is a digraph

We have been learning about digraphs (2 letters that make one sound). We have used POPLET to show all the digraphs we found in our reading book 'Did you say fire?'.



Justin says, " It can be tricky to remember how to spell words with digraphs."

WALT: Use capital letters and full stops

 To celebrate Mothers' Day we used Tagul to make a note to our Mum's. 

Justin says, "The next step for me is to learn how to spell HFW's on my own."

WALT: check our writing makes sense

In Writing this term we have been learning to:

• use capital letters and full stops
• check our writing makes sense
• write in detail (more than one idea/add interesting words-adjectives)
• write in sequence using words like first, next and after that

We had to share something ABOUT ME, and write 2 sentences about something we like. 

Justin says, "I will read my story to Miss Green to check."

WALT: Retell a story

In reading, we have been learning how to retell a story. We have focused on key features like the characters and the events that take place and are now trying hard to sequence our ideas using key words like first, next and after that. 

IAL: How to read graphs and talk about them

(We have used the Statistics activities on Mathletics to practice what we have been learning.)

For our Maths Strand this term we have been learning all about Statistics.

We have collected different kinds of data and assembled this information onto the graphs.

The next time you visit our classroom check-out the different graphs we have made on the walls.

Justin says, " I just have to count the fish!"

IALT: Get in and out of the pool safely

We have been learning how to get in and out of the pool using the ladders and the edge of the pool. We know how to use both hands to support us and to turn around before getting off the ladder.
